Okay, so we’ve already spoken to her before… but since Roxanne had the balls to go in and confront receptionists at the BBC in this time of ‘terrorism’ for the sake of a video, we thought we’d shine the spotlight back on her again.
Here’s something a bit different from what I usually cover on here. For all of you partial to a bit of old time gypsy-swing folk music, it can be difficult to find contemporary artists with a bit of style that can and do actually write their own tracks, rather than just imitating what’s come before. I give you Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra.
Unsettling looped harmonies, running water and breathy whistling. You never quite know what you’re going to come across in a Pulco record, and that’s part of its charm. Sketchbook Season continues in the ‘lofi misery poet’ style that we’ve come to know and admire (albeit maybe at a distance).

Future of the Left have had returned. After the rather shock news that angry singer/bassman Kelson Mathias had left the raging power-trio, the band have taken a bit of time to take stock and get their house in order. The culmination? A change of record label, and 6 track EP to boot… an album entitled the plot against common sense to follow in 2012.
Excited? Good.
FOE: the musical project of one Hannah Clark; the one woman hurricane who has stolen our hearts with her unique musical sensibilities made her first venture north of the border on this latest UK tour.

Lafaro are a band that we’ve been hearing more and more about over the past few months, and today is the day that they release their sophomore full-length to the masses, along with news of a joint UK tour in November with none other than our old pals Hold Your Horse Is.
Volume 4 is the latest release from one of the most interesting bands around - Shield Your Eyes.
Due out on the 17th of October, this has got to be one of their finest albums to date.
A lot has changed since we first came across Otherpeople in November last year.
Back then, a search for the band name would return… well, not very much. Nowadays they’ve been (finally) attracted the attention of some other well-placed musical people, getting a coveted slot for up-and-coming bands on the T-Break Stage at T in the Park, as well as their latest EP hitting Number 2 on the NME’s ‘buzz list’ (whatever the hell that is).

Will Hanson’s hop from his hometown of London, to New York, to Glasgow is one that is rather intriguing. Why on earth would someone ditch the Big Apple to head for a relatively tiny Scottish city? I mean, no arguments from me about it being one of the greatest places in the world, but on paper it doesn’t make much sense.
