Following on from our time spent with the magnificent Pulled Apart By Horses on their album release tour, we’ve got a full photo gallery of delights from Stephen McLeod to give you an insight into their backstage world.

"What kind of bleach do use on your hair? Is it just toilet stuff?"
I felt like the wee boy from the year 2000’s classic film ‘Almost Famous’. Being given complete and unrestricted access to Pulled Apart by Horses - what has to be the UK’s most exciting live band - on their debut album release tour throws up as many serious questions as well as those about my hair.
Whilst spending time in dressing rooms and backstage areas with bands is not something alien to me, you can’t help but wonder what the etiquette is when you’re there to observe and effectively ‘report back’ on the inner workings of a group as tightly knit as this. When bands are as frank and down-to-earth as the Leeds foursome are, it gets even harder to work out whether what’s said is on or off the record. There’s not exactly a rule book which lets you know what information you glean is private or better not released, and which you can share. The fine balance of giving respect to the trust you’re given by people on the road and making sure you give an honest and full account is not one which is all that easily met.

The full line up for Truck 13 has just been announced and it’s looking as choice as ever. One of our favourite festivals, Truck scores points for keeping it ecclectic without compromising the quality and for allowing their local vicar to sell ice creams. Rock n roll!
The line up includes acts of genius like Pulled Apart by Horses, Fists, Future of the Left and Redlands Palomino Company and many many more bands guaranteed to entertain. They’ve just started selling day tickets, so why not treat yourself?
Here’s the line up…

Like a lot of the newer smaller urban festivals springing up, Glasgow’s Hinterland Festival had a great selection of new acts, marking a change from the usual hitlist of random big names and career revivalists doing the festival circuit. Artrocker.com reviews editor Stephen McLeod set up camp at the Admiral Bar and got these pictures of Bleech, Pulled Apart By Horses and Kitty the Lion.

April the 3rd saw the Hinterland Festival return to various venues strewn around Glasgow for another year - this time reduced from two days to only the one. It seemed like no-one really knew it was on this time round, which was a shame, as I realised there was a whole host of quality acts which were on the way to being established in their respective underground circles.
Here’s a neat Pulled Apart by Horses interview with some choice live clips. It’s something to do with Skins, which is ‘all about crazy parties and youth culture’.

Matt Bigland from the mighty Dinosaur Pile Up takes his turn to give us his take on the top 10 (err, well.. 9) acts of 2009.

We’ve been going on about them all year - now the mighty Pulled Apart By Horses take turns to tell us what rings their collective bells.

A juicy set of Pulled Apart by Horses photos to enjoy with the review of their gig at Captain’s Rest in Glasgow.
