Kurt Vile’s upcoming God Is Saying This To You 12" (out later this month on Mexican Summer) has been my default late-night jam lately, all hazy, earnest psych-folk that feels intensely lonely and intimate, at times eliciting a stinging nostalgia for an era that I didn’t actually experience. The guy is getting a lot of much-deserved love lately from some good people, and fortunately for SXSW-goers, he’s playing a handful of must-see showcases at the fest, including parties with Woods, Vivian Girls, Blank Dogs, Wavves, Crystal Stilts, Nite Jewel, and more. Here’s one of the highlights from the new record:
