EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Freshkills - Revelation (Nick Zinner Remix)

We clued you into the tangled punk energy of Brooklyn’s Freshkills last fall, and now dudes are coming correct with a remix of their tune "Revelation" from none other than Nick Zinner; guitarist, of course, for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and constant purveyor of sonic awesomeness (see also: Head Wound City). Nick’s taken the tune and forgone its layers of guitars for something that resembles that Jack White and Alicia Keys James Bond song but sped up a lot, with a better beat, and lacking any gratuitous vocal exercises. Most glaringly new are the trumpets, which sound really bright and regal and are essentially begging to be blasted out over a bullfighting ring or something. A good look, we’re into bombast. Grab the download below, buy a copy of the record over at the band’s website, and if you live in New York you can catch them at Public Assembly on January 23 with BM Linx, GANG, and Superfortress. UK residents, they promise they’ll be over there for a week of dates in May, keep your eyes peeled.
