Favours For Sailors - Hanging On A Christmas Tree

While ‘tis the season to be merry’, the overplaying of Christmas songs in December is as deliriously maddening as Chinese Water Torture. (Seriously, if my parents had been smarter, they shoulda locked me in my room and played "Frosty The Snowman" on repeat when they grounded me). Anyway, leave it to the Brits to save our ailing ears. The Brit 3-peice Favours For Sailors have crafted a killer riff-heavy Christmas rock anthem that doesn’t make you want to stab a reindeer. You can get the idea of the sarcastic lean from the title "Hanging On A Christmas Tree." While the lyrics are maverick and humorous, the tune overall is good enough to listen to it guilt-free on the off-season. Play it loud at that next holiday party and your friends may shower you with mistletoe.

SOUNDS LIKE: Artic Monkeys, The Minutemen
