It'll Be Filthy This Christmas

The Filthy Little Angels Christmas compilation is as traditional as overcooked sprouts, mistletoe kisses from your granny, novelty xmas socks from your aunty and the Christmas TOTP being crap and this years is no exception.

There’s Eddie Argos & Keith TOTP’s recherché remodelling of the Cliff Richard’s ‘Mistletoe & Wine’ into a true indie classic. There’s two tracks from Billy Ruffian, ‘It’s A Long Lonely Christmas Without Jimmy Greenhoff’ and ‘All I Want For Christmas Is A Ting Ting’, that are straight out of the Half Man Half Biscuit book of indie obscurantism. There’s the ubiquitous Micropenis (see Christmas On Planet Peel) giving their electro festive wishes to Russian dictators ‘Happy Christmas Stalin’, the Black Tulips with an adorable and surprisingly straight cover of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ and The Rocks (the UK not the US version) doing justice to the classic ‘Christmas (Baby Come Back Home)’. All this and The Favours’ stylish version of the Wham ‘classic’ ‘Last Christmas’ and Hyperbubble’s peculiar and festive in name only ‘Christmas With The Bee Gees’.

I could go on extolling the virtues of each and every track but part of the joy of Christmas is the surprise of discovering something you’ve always wanted at the bottom of your stocking. So go visit Filthy Little Angels website and see for yourself what Santa Woon has left you.
