Ladyhawke’s Paris with a French twist

I don’t really know if I’ll end up doing a Best of 08 post, though it seems as an obvious thing to do for every blog. But if I’ll end up posting my list on here, one of the top spots will definitely be occupied by Ladyhawke. I’ve fallen in love with her cute pop sketches and retrorock fantasies, and once I’ve started spinning that album I just can’t get myself to stop it. I have almost worn Paris Is Burning out, but if there’s any more juice to squeeze out from that track, a nice translated version may do the trick. Paris s’enflemme has Ladyhawke telling her story about kids on the street and yearning hearts in French which adds even more cuteness to the track.
Ladyhawke - Paris s’enflemme
