I want to post something that’s a bit different from my usual electronic escapades. Wavves is a one man project out of California, and if I ever said that distortion had to die, I was terribly wrong (or just tired of french house… choose your own answer). Drawing parallels to No Age and the movement around The Smell is obvious, but it seems that Wavves’s sound stands out from the rest through its sheer honesty. I don’t know if that really qualifies as an argument, but does it really matter? Genres seem a little useless to me most of the time, so the only thing I’m going to say about Wavves is that there’s a lot of noise flying around.
