bromheads jacket - lesley parlafitt

Released: Mon, 2007/01/22 on Marquis Cha Cha
ARTROCKER RATING:
Have you ever noticed how bands’ biggest successes, sometimes their only hits (indie or otherwise), are those tracks their fans know are their ‘second-best’ efforts.
The keenly anticipated debut album ‘Dits’ arrived and was no disappointment and now they are back on the road with this new single to promote.
Perhaps that’s just the anorak indie-kid mentality in me, looking down with disdain at all those ‘Johnny-come-lately’ so-called fans of my once favourite band who have now left for pastures larger and broader. ‘You should hear their early stuff if you think that’s good!’… and the like. Bromheads have not left for pastures new. They did have an excellent 2006 in which they must have been gigging on more days than they were not! The keenly anticipated debut album ‘Dits’ arrived and was no disappointment and now they are back on the road with this new single to promote. Sometimes you simply have to keep hammering on those doors of opportunity until one creeks open. Lesley Parlafitt’ is classic Bromheads almost as good as ‘What Ifs and Maybes’ – brief, brash, abrasive, and witty, and it may be the one that opens that door. If so, 2007 is theirs for the taking.
