THE COVERGIRLS

If Stephen Malkmus had formed fIREHOSE with Mike Watt and George Hurley, they may have made music akin to Glasgow’s COVERGIRLS.  Yes, they’re that good. 

Covergirls!

The band have had a stop start existence for a couple of years - recently shaking off their improvisational tendencies for a more structured and crafted pop sound. They’re still satisfyingly free form in places though, reminding of Deerhoof in the way the songs bob and weave about. 

At the end of October 2008, they bashed through five songs in eight hours at Chime Studio in Glasgow with Ross MacGowan. We have one of those mighty fine tracks from that session for you to download here.
