Delay Trees - Cassette 2010 Free Single Download

Their tag line reads ‘tender pop songs that will melt your ears’, and that pretty much sums it up perfectly. I could just leave you with that and a download link, but that wouldn’t do them justice.

This ‘dream pop’ group from Helsinki in Finland are offering up their newest single ‘Cassette 2012’ as a free download from their site, and damn it’s good. It takes a wee bit to ‘kick in’ (although that isn’t really a good description given the soft nature of the song), but after the initial tinkly-synthy parts, Rami Vierula’s voice instantly makes you feel at home; as if you’ve been best friends for years.

The ethereal qualities of sigur rós mixed with the vocal quality and fragility of acoustic wonder Iain Archer make this a stunningly beautiful piece of music to listen and relax to. You probably shouldn’t play it before playing in some sort of competitive sport mind.

This is taken from their debut album, due out sometime in September. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
