Playing Games

The Game Needed Me
From: Cheltenham, United Kingdom

The Game Needed Me
Named after a track by Seattle’s Minus The Bear Cheltenham’s The Game Needed Me don’t only wear their influences on their sleeves they include them in their name! Although if you check Tooth Diaries (see below) you’ll wonder why they didn’t call themselves The Nancy Boys such is the lead singer’s vocal likeness to Placebo’s Brian Molko. Actually scrub that The Nancy Boys is an even worse name than The Game Needed Me!

‘Tooth Diaries’ is an enigmatic dose of indie with impenetrable lyrics that are either the mark of a genius or arrant nonsense I really can’t decide. Given that I actually rather like ‘Tooth Diaries’ and the other tracks on their myspace site I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and plump for sheer genius.

The games changing and The Game Needed Me are the change agents.
