Hallo... I Love You! - Walk Me To The Sea

We get a lot of submissions from unknown bands in the artrocker.com inbox. Too many to feature, or even to reply to everyone. There’s also the fact that a lot of them don’t send us any images, MP3s, or even use any sort of discernible grammar.. and all this before we even get to err.. ‘enjoy’ what seems to be a mash-up of the latest indie-chart bands in a different package.

Hallo… I Love You! stood out from the pack, and brought a smile back to my face in amidst the durge of monotony, and as a result, I salute them, if not quite love them back. That said, love is a strong emotion, and I like to keep public displays of such affection to a minimum.

Their debut single, entitled ‘Walk Me To The Sea’ is due to be released on the 8th of March on limited edition sea blue 7" vinyl ‘in hand made fuzzy felt bags with under-the-sea themed fuzzy felt shapes!’. Err.. indeed.

Cramming all sorts of musical sounds into the 4 minute track, from a nice innocent-sounding girl doing backing vocals; a quirky lead; old-school Gameboy sounding blips; digital oddities and tinkling bits, this band aren’t just some obscure concept band that grates on the nerves. It’s light-hearted, but with thought.

Check out their Myspace for more (and if they feel like sending me a copy of the LP, or one of their sea-blue fancies, I’ll not be complaining)
