RCRD OF THE DAY: Metric - Front Row (Acoustic)

(Photo: Justin Broadbent)

Reworks don’t get much more vulnerable than this acoustic version of Metric’s "Front Row," swapping lo-fi grit and glammed-up feedback for breathy vocals which ride a lone, strummy march into the night. For the ‘studio’ slick version, hit up the Canadian rockers’ latest (and self-released) Fantasies, which incidentally just won MySpace’s Triumph of the Year award for getting huge despite not being studio-backed.  Whether that falls under the category of ironic or meta, we can’t be sure.
