Our favourite masters of noise HEALTH have come up with their own top 10 of 2009. Feast your eyes after the jump.
1. PICTUREPLANE

Travis Egedy a.k.a Pictureplane a.k.a Captain Experience a.k.a The Man With The Golden Cock is a man from a mostly unknown incredible scene in Denver, Colorado. We’ve been doing all we can to let people experience the captain. His album Dark Rift is the best of the year.
2. THE JESUS LIZARD

One of my favorite bands reforms and completely completely destroys live. We saw the first reformed performance at ATP and it was FOR REAL with absolutely no thoughts of how it was "back then". The greatest reunion show Ive ever seen. Also PERFECT remasters. Goat sounds EVEN better, the lizard is two for two for impossible feats.
3. D-LO

NO SQUARES ALLOWED. This stuff is so hot, new and some of the wackiest stuff you’ve ever heard. Metroid samples, bass explosions, D-Lo’s rapping ping ponging everywhere all crazy. Get hip to it now.
4. DIRTY PROJECTORS

Hit it big this year. Played Bitte Orca until I got sick. Like Pancakes or Popcorn.
5. ANIMAL COLLECTIVE

STILL. The hits on the Merriweather are true blue musical achievements. This band will be remembered and obsessed over for many years to come. The real tragedy is they have no great logo or t shirt. We really need an AC "Steal Your Face", or they are never getting in a headshop.
6. BLACK DICE

You weren’t gonna stop doing drugs in ‘09 were you?
7. MICHAEL JACKSON

This is it. One day there will be no more stars.
8. CFCF

Genius ass electronic music producer from Montreal. Some of the greatest remixes Ive ever received. "You Hear Colours" has been at the top of my iTunes all year.
9. GOLD PANDA

Like Pictureplane this is something the kids have been subconsciously lusting after for a long time.
10. DAN DEACON

Cartoon music counterpoint. Crazy ass B-More ensemble tour bus tour. Dan is the man.
