Guest top 10s: The Zookeepers

The Zookeepers biffed out our number one record of 2009 - Ballin’ Outrageous. Think of all the amazing records this year - there is a shitload of them - and in our opinion Ballin’ Outrageous is better than all of the rest of them.

Here are The Zookeepers favourite albums of 2009, handily arranged in alphabetical order. Good to see they’re not afraid of including their own album in the list. If you don’t blow your own trumpet etc etc.

Amanda Blank - I Love You

There’s not much to over-analyze or critique about this album. It’s just brilliant dance music…all except "A Love Song." Don’t listen to that one. I think we can all agree that one sucks.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion

This is the most unique album of the year. Cooper’s convinced they sampled a wind-shield wiper in "Taste."

Clues - Clues

Tim Heidecker in CLUES - "You Have My Eyes Now" (dir. Matt Wells) from Matthew Wells on Vimeo.

Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca

This is one of Pat’s favs.

JEFF The Brotherhood - Heavy Days

Two Fast Two Furious. That’s what it says on their T-shirts. I just bought one.

R.E.M.- Live At The Olympia In Dublin

St. Vincent - Actor

We went to see her over the Summer when she played a little independent movie theater on Cape Cod. It was surreal. This album is simultaneously beautiful and rockin’.

WHY? - Eskimo Snow

Yea Big + Kid Static - The Future’s Looking Grim

Beats and Rhymes Beats and Rhymes. Give your subwoofer a workout! WOO.

The Zookeepers - Ballin’ Outrageous

Is this shameful? So what. We made an album we’re proud of and want EVERYONE to hear! Can’t apologize for that.
