Next Play it by Ear club sounds choice - with live music from My Tiger My Timing, Le Corps Mins de Francois and Hook and the Twin.  Get yourselves down to The Monarch Bar on the 24th.

Here’s the press release…

We, here at Play It By Ear, are all about high-octane fun. This after all is London, the city that never stops - drinks, gigs, parties, all-nighters, a pause for work, then drinks, dancing, gigs REPEAT.

Sometimes though you want, need even MORE. More fun, more dancing, more parties. Look no further.

October PIBE is all about limbs flailing, bodies writhing, feet stomping, dance-dance-dancing in the House of Jagermeister that is The Monarch.

These bands know all about keeping the floor rocking and bodies popping with catchy melodies, chanty choruses, and RAVEY beats.

Come for some pre-Halloween fun, masks welcome, drinks standard, fun guaranteed.

Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough!

LE CORPS MINCE DE FRANCOIS
http://www.myspace.com/lecorpsmincedefrancoise

French name, Scandinavian roots, Brazilian beats. LCMDF (The Thin Body of Francois) are truly a band for modern day international living.

Imagine all the mischievous exuberance that was missing from the last CSS album and add the party spirit of Chicks On Speed and Le Tigre and you’ll have the joy and Technicolour that are the three sisters of LCMDF!

Skip-along lyrics, M.I.A Gangalang horn section, notorious live performances, achingly cool bowl cuts and a bit of Peaches filth. This band are the essence of what good times are all about.

MY TIGER MY TIMING
http://www.myspace.com/mytigermytiming

Endorsed by Hot-Chip you know that My Tiger My Timing’s minimal yet vibrant electro pop is the REAL thing. In this world of more, more, more, MTMT bring us fire by stripping it down to the bare minimum to leave us with concentrated hooks and catchy melodies with its bones showing thanks to earnest vocals and bouncy riffs. It’s every bit of the cliches that less is more and all killer no filler. MTMT don’t mess about with the rubbish stuff. What they deliver is every-note worthy.

"Their musical modesty hides a cleverness and sexiness" Artrocker

"A magic pop song" Jon Hillcock, XFM

HOOK & THE TWIN
http://www.myspace.com/hookandthetwin
From London (via Brazil) duo Hook and The Twin (a.k.a. Tom Havelock and Marcus Efstratiou), will have you shaking your ass with their skittish rhythms, catchy refrains and what they describe as ‘semi-automated’ music, likened to their contemporaries Foals and Post War Years.

Zane Lowe has been shouting about them, Drowned in Sound made them their single of the week, and we’re thrilled for them to be gracing their cool presence at PIBE!
