NEW MATERIAL THIS WEEK - Independently released,
Pearl Jam unleashed their ninth-studio album this week. The record, titled, ‘
Backspacer’ was produced by Brendan O’Brien. (O’Brien produced three of Pearl Jam’s earlier albums;
Vs.,
Vitalogy,
No Code, and co-produced Yield and oversaw the re-mastering and remixing of their seminal debut
Ten which was
re-released this Spring.)
Backspacer was all penned by Eddie Vedder. The music was written collectively by Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Jeff Ament, Eddie Vedder and recorded and mixed at Henson Studios in Los Angeles and Southern Tracks in Atlanta. The first single,
The Fixer is available for download now on iTunes. It’s a real return to form.

The release of this new record comes on the heels of the
re-release of the bands catalog. The new record is currently available in the
US through Target stores, through Pearl Jam’s own Ten Club, independent retailers, iTunes and Rock Band. Internationally, the album will be available via Universal/Island Records.
