maths class - now this will take two hands (ep)

Released: Mon, 2008/07/21 on Gift Music
ARTROCKER RATING:

Someone should make a drink called Vim ‘n’ Vigour. Seriously, it would be sugary like Red Bull, would almost certainly taste of orange, and Maths Class could soundtrack the TV advert.

The air of hyper activity and youthful exuberance practically jumps off the band's new EP ‘Now This Will Take Two Hands’. With its pace, power and hustle, the EP acts like a gateway into a feral universe- every track an ADD dance punk genre pulp.

Maths Class set their stall out with a self assured cockiness underpinning their jerk riffs and squawked vocals...
Clearly indebted to the likes of Blood Brothers, Test-Icicles and every first-rate party band of the new Millennium, at no point during this 15 minute long record do the band sound like they’re winging it. Everything sounds planned and honed to within an inch of its life. Kicking off with ‘Nerves’, Maths Class set their stall out with a self assured cockiness underpinning their jerk riffs and squawked vocals. Taught and fraught, ‘Deutsche’ bleeps and beats in all the right places whilst ‘Branches’ shows the bands ability to craft a fine pop song. Maths Class excel however, in the furious and supersonic ‘Jonny Got The Jawline’ and ‘Replays Of Relays’. The bands confidence is clear for all to hear on these songs and they hint at much more than just a promising future.
