This year’s Southsea Fest looks like the perfect place to fill your salty sea boots with galleys full of amazing bands. There are shit loads playing - including Tubelord, This Town Needs Guns, Band of Skulls, Thomas Tantrum, Beans on Toast, The Joy Formidable, It Hugs Back - and loads you won’t have heard of. They might be the next big thing, and you’ll get all the indie kudos points you can handle by being able to claim you were there first, witnessing their stride towards greatness at some pub by the sea.
It’s happening at Southsea, which is the seaside area of Portsmouth City. If only Favours for Sailors hadn’t split up - they would have been the most perfectly monikered band to headline.
It’s on 19th September - and tickets are an incredibly sweet 12 quid in advance, or 15 on the day.
