The Lovely Eggs - on tour with Hotpants Romance

Anyone who has had the pleasure of a perfect full english breakfast will know the satisfaction of enjoying some lovely eggs. As well as being a tasty breakfast food, Lovely Eggs are also a great noise pop band from Lancaster.

The Lovely Eggs like making a racket and enchanting us with nursery rhyme pop in equal measure. Just as a song begins to test your tweeness threshold, it slaps you in the face with a chunky riff and tells you to stop being such a cissy. It’s the Moldy Peaches jamming with Screaming Tea Party. It’s Daniel Johnston’s sister backed by Comanechi.

In short, the Lovely Eggs are - I’m going to have to say it, don’t hate me - eggxcellent!

The Lovely Eggs currently seem pretty busy too. They have their debut album out soon - If You Were Fruit - released on June 1st

They run their own virtual post office, where you can buy vinyl, tattoos and dolls

They’re also on tour with the fantastic Hotpants Romance. Surely it’s worth going to see each and every one of these shows:

1 Jun 2009 Manchester - Fuel
2 Jun 2009 Leeds - Manifesta @ The Packhorse
3 Jun 2009 Birmingham - Top Secret Location!!! (could it be another awesome Cold Rice night?)
4 Jun 2009 Southampton - Hamptons
5 Jun 2009 Bournemouth - The Gander
6 Jun 2009 Nottingham - The Rose of England
