Ever since witnessing a horrific disservice involving a friend at the helm of this games machine I have made it my routine to do the following ahead of play. It’s my tried and tested checklist to thwart a games related mischief.
6 STEPS TO PREVENT Wii INJURY (WINJURY)
1. Skip gently for 1- 5 minutes. This is a great way to warm up as you use lots of different muscle groups.
2. Go for a gentle walk or jog. Its a great way to warm up your muscles and prepare your body for Wii-ing. Do this with friends as you can socialise while you walk or jog, and encourage each other.
3. Make sure you do some gentle muscle stretches as part of your warm up, especially if you are doing a high speed or intensive Wii session. You should hold stretches for between 10 -15 seconds, as long as this feels comfortable for you. Concentrate on muscles you would use in the game you are about to play, e.g. Shoulder / upper arm for Resident Evil gun antics or Thigh / calf muscles for Wii Sports bowling lunge shenanigans.
4. Remove any objects in the immediate area that may cause death or injury by tripping, crushing or impalement.
5. Just prior to commencement always take a few moments to meditate, in an attempt to relax before power play.
6. JUST ENJOY YOURSELF!
