The Rumble Strips can’t love you in London; will love you anywhere else

The Rumble Strips

This will be even briefer than usual today as I feel like hell.

The Rumble Strips are one of those bands that I knew existed, yet managed to completely pass over in the past. Then again, I do that with nearly everything. The press release for London tells me their album was produced by Mark Ronson more than once. The only problem is that I don’t know who he is. I know that he exists, and that he must be important to be mentioned more times than the band themselves, but I don’t know anything that he has done. And so it goes. Either way, London is a jaunty little tune, seemingly never able to decide if it wants to go for a serious indie rock kind of sound, or something rather more fun. It manages to remain just this side of irritating, which means it’s probably for the best that it’s short and to the point.

MP3 The Rumble Strips - London

Welcome To The Walk Alone will be released on June 8 via Island Records. Christ, two majors in a week. What’s happening to me?
