Fugazi — Waiting Room
Yeah. This is exactly what I needed! I think maybe I need to put some Fugazi on my iPod for the morning commute. (Motivated by a early-morning conversation on the amazingness of Guy Picciotto.)
Everybody Was In the French Resistance … Now! — G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N (You Know I’ve Got A)
The kinder, gentler side of Eddie Argos (with Dyan Valdes)

Yay, there’s a new Morrissey record due out November 3.
xoxo, c. hotpoint. (Obvs. the album art doesn’t actually have all those hearts and stuff on it.)
“In that sense Inglourious Basterds may be the punkest movie I’ve seen in I can’t even think how long. Maybe ever. It’s about nothing less than the power of art to destroy evil. It’s about how important it is to love film more than the likes of Hitler hate life. It’s about how movie violence, art violence, art designed as a FUCK YOU, can help you deal with the violence that so terrified Chamberlain’s cohorts and to which Hitler and his cohorts were so indifferent. It’s Woody Guthrie’s “THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS” guitar slogan made literal.
I resisted this band for as long as I could. I wasn’t sure about the name and all — that’s quite ambitious, I thought. The Big Pink? Really? And website called www.musicfromthebigpink.com? For once someone else’s love of The Band almost put me off entirely — for no good reason, really.

Graffiti from Australian Kid Zoom (via Lost at E Minor)
We have come to the point in the development of user-generated content where fan videos are infinitely more awesome than the official one.
Created from footage pulled from the 1935 film version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Max Reinhardt. Relatedly, Pinkie is reading Angela Carter’s Wise Children currently, which is loosely based on the production of this film.

I have a crush on this bird!
Big Black - Kerosene

This is the first new song that’s begged to get stuck on repeat in months and months. From the forthcoming Quicken the Heart. I love that Maximo Park wear a Paul Weller influence on their sleeves, but never slip into derivative nonsense.
