SXSW Dispatch part two

Place is packed’ scribbles the woman in front of me on her notepad as I peer over her shoulder trying to nick her words so I can use them as the intro for my review of Little Boots. She’s right you know, half the population of Texas appear to have squeezed into Emo Jrs and, as a t-shirt in a local gift shop reminds us, ‘Texas is bigger than France‘so that’s quite a lot of people.

 Efterklang

Once again thousands of indie kids from all around the globe have arrived in Austin, Texas for SXSW, all feeling a sense of smug satisfaction knowing that in years to come they’ll be able to tell their children ‘I once saw AIDS Wolf play in a venue the size of cupboard. This was before they sold out to The Man and started writing all those Disney soundtracks of course’.

1. For people who are unaware of Bam Bam please can you give us five facts about the band which will tell the world all they need to know about you?

  • We have a very weird sense of humor
  • We hate the name Bam Bam but now we get used to it
  • Three boys and one girl. And that girl is braver than the three men together.
  • We do all of our recordings in our rehearsal space inside an old rat poison warehouse
  • Ocasionally we use drugs. Only ocasionally
