Excellent new Jeff The Brotherhood video!
They’re on tour in the US with The Kills, so make sure you get to those shows early if you’re going. One of those occassions where the support is waaay better than the headline act.

Everyone seems to be whinging on about records of the year lists at the moment, how we’re all sick of them as there are too many and they’re irrelevant anyway. But I like them. So here’s mine.
I’ve put them in a numbered order, but it’s fairly arbitrary. They’re all awesome so be sure to get that mousewheel working and explore down to the bottom of the page. Hopefully you’ll find plenty to like.
And happy Christmas!

Wax Idols, an obvious choice I thought, but no where to be seen.
I’ve got to admit, I was kind of pleased to be asked to contribute to the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll.
I thought there might be some cross over between my own choices and those of the other pundits, and that my votes might tip the balance to help a genuinely interesting up and coming act to get a bit more exposure.

Dischord Records has put together an archive of every single Fugazi live performance - featuring photos, set lists and over 130 recordings taken straight from the sound desk.

Don’t let the terrible title put you off. ‘Only Seven Inches For your Girlfriend?’ is a compilation of excellent singles from Montpellier based psych fanatics Jack of Heart, and I tip my hat to new label Teenage Menapause Records for putting it together.

"Hey, what’s up you little jerks? Long time no see uh? You ready to learn something?"
New old song of the day, courtesy of The High Numbers. It’s the pre-Who, recorded live at the Railway Hotel in 1964, back when people weren’t afraid of using words like ‘poo’ and ‘pah’ in their song titles.
If you’re impressed by the quality of the filming as much as the crowd’s dance moves, it’s because it’s from a planned documentary that never came to light.

Here’s one for your Christmas list - a limited edition white vinyl double a-side single from Toronto/London hopping 3 piece The Sharp Tongues.

Just spotted this tip on Rich Girls - some archivist / nerd / genius has ripped almost every single mix tape that the NME gave away in the 1980s. It’s a very interesting mix of tunes proving what an eclectic publication it used to be.
