This week’s round up of the tracks I’ve not had the space to post… The Finger From: Thessaloniki, Greece With Greece going to hell in a handcart, debts are spiralling out of control and a severe dose of austerity on the way it seems quite apt that Greece give the world The Finger.   I spoke to Rory from Leeds’ finest indie band, Grammatics, about what’s in store for us fans in the coming year. You played Reading and Leeds – how did that go? As you’d expect. Lots of fun. Got to see The XX and Radiohead twice. You’ve just completed your tour with Bloc Party too, any funny stories? I stayed out with Matt in Brighton after the gig...
It’s MAP time again. This month I’m enthusing about Blue Roses, as I have here quite a lot already. The more I hear that album, the better it gets. After putting the finishing touches on his award-winning science fair project, Mr. VanGaalen has found the time to bang out some mighty fine pop music that is now available to the world via Sub Pop. Venue: Louisiana, Bristol Teaser: Rock Gods are a bit of a rare species these days, but Giles Crosse thinks he’s found some of the critters in Bristol.
